ACB Gujarat nabs Talati Mantri in bribery case

Nadiad: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Gujarat today arrested Narendrasinh Ghanshyamsinh Vaghela, Talati cum Minister at the Palana Gram Panchayat, for accepting a bribe of Rs. 5,000.
As per the ACB, the accused had initially demanded a bribe of Rs. 10,000 from the complainant for carrying out work related to the inheritance of lands in the name of his family members in Palana village and for providing necessary documents regarding illegal construction on that land. The complainant, hesitant to comply, paid Rs. 5,000 via UPI transfer on February 6, 2025. However, when the accused demanded the remaining Rs. 5,000, the complainant reached out to the ACB and filed a complaint.
Acting on the complaint, ACB set up a trap at Tulsi Food Court, located near Dabhan Chowkdi in Nadiad. During the meeting, the accused, Narendrasinh Vaghela, accepted the bribe of Rs. 5,000, which led to his immediate arrest.
