Vadodara: A young nurse working at Savita Hospital succumbed to her injuries after being hit by a door-to-door waste collection vehicle of the Vadodara civic body. The incident occurred last week, and despite receiving treatment, she passed away late Wednesday night.

The incident occurred on February 13, involving 25-year-old Asma Patel, originally from Bharuch, who lived in Gokul Nagar near Soma Lake. She was employed as a nurse at Savita Hospital. On Thursday at around 3 PM, while returning home on her moped after duty, she was passing through the Soma Lake intersection when a Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) waste collection truck hit her from behind, causing severe injuries to her chest and hand.

Asma was rushed to Savita Hospital for treatment but succumbed to her injuries late on Wednesday evening. Following her death, the Kapurai police initiated action in the case. DeshGujarat
