Hot, Humid Air to Prevail Over Coastal Gujarat for Next 5 Days; IMD Issues Warning

Ahmedabad: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) today, in its daily weather forecast, issued a warning about hot and humid conditions that are likely to prevail in the coastal region of Gujarat over the next five days.

IMD’s forecast for the next seven days indicates a gradual rise in temperatures.

The forecast states:

~ No large change in maximum temperatures during the next 24 hours; thereafter, a rise of 2-3°C is very likely over the region.

~ Rise in Minimum temperatures by 2-3 0C during next 2 days, thereafter no large change very likely over the region

~ Discomfort conditions due to hot & humid air are very likely to prevail over the coastal areas of South Gujarat and Saurashtra-Kutch during the next 5 days.

As per IMD’s bulletin, the weather remained dry across Gujarat over the past 24 hours. The bulletin also stated that there was no large change in maximum temperatures over the region, and these were above normal to appreciably above normal.

Similarly, minimum temperatures also did not see a major change and remained normal to above normal in parts of Gujarat, Saurashtra, and Kutch. As per the synoptic situation, northerly to northeasterly winds are prevailing at lower levels over the region. DeshGujarat
