ACB Gujarat nabs ASI in ₹2 lakh bribery case

Gandhinagar: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Gujarat nabbed Ashokbhai Becharbhai Chaudhary, an Unarmed ASI (Assistant Sub-Inspector) (Class-3) posted at Sector-7 Police Station in Gandhinagar, on Wednesday in a bribery case involving ₹2 lakh.
According to the ACB, the accused was investigating a case related to financial irregularities against the complainant. During the investigation, he allegedly demanded a bribe of ₹2,00,000 in exchange for not harassing the complainant and not filing a case. Unwilling to pay the bribe, the complainant approached the Jamnagar ACB. Acting on the complaint, the ACB set up a trap, during which the accused demanded and accepted the bribe and was caught red-handed. He has been booked for misusing his position as a civil servant and committing the offense. DeshGujarat
