Junagadh: Dharmesh Poshiya is new Mayor of Junagadh city. Ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) yesterday decided the names of new office bearers of Junagadh Municipal Corporation (JMC) after repeat win in regular elections of JMC that were held last month. Akash Katara has been elected as Deputy Mayor. Mrs. Pallavi Thaker is elected as Chairman of Standing Committee while Manan Abhani has been elected as the leader of ruling party. Barring Akash Katara, none of names is surprising. Akash Katara is first-time elected young face. Selection of a woman on the post of Standing Committee Chairman is also seen as pathbreaking decision by party. DeshGujarat
