Bridge construction on Ahmedabad-Mehsana Highway halted due to major oversight
March 06, 2025
Mehsana: A major blunder has stalled the construction of a bridge at Shivala Circle on the Mehsana-Ahmedabad Highway, causing severe inconvenience to motorists and locals. The project came to a standstill after it was found that both ends of the bridge were supposed to connect at the circle, directly under an 11,000 KV high-voltage power line. Extending the bridge further could bring it dangerously close to the power line, posing a serious risk of accidents.
Due to this critical oversight by the administration and the construction company, further work has been halted. The situation has sparked outrage, raising questions about why such a crucial detail was overlooked before commencing construction. Locals, already struggling with traffic congestion, are demanding strict action against those responsible and clarity on when the stalled project will resume. DeshGujarat
