Vadodara gets its latest flyover linking Atladra to Manjalpur; Inauguration today

Vadodara: The inauguration of a long-awaited Manjalpur-Atladra flyover bridge is taking place today in Vadodara just before the inauspicious period of Holashtak. The flyover bridge is constructed at a cost of Rs. 53.24 crore.

The new flyover was completed and ready for inauguration over a week ago; however, ruling Bharatiya Janata Party leaders of Vadoara Municipal Corporation (VMC) were waiting for the Chief Minister to inaugurate it. On the other hand, due to ongoing budget sessions and other engagements, the Chief Minister could not spare time for the same. The locals and the main opposition Congress party members had voiced against the delay in the opening of a fully completed bridge and demanded its opening at the soonest. Finally, it was decided that before the start of Holashtak, the bridge should be inaugurated locally. As a result of this, the mayor of Vadodara is going to inaugurate this bridge, which has been being built for the last four years.

A 797-meter-long bridge is 16.80 meters wide and located on the 35-meter TP road line. Earlier, the commuters from Rajmahel Road, Danteshar, Pratapnagar, Tarsali, Manjalpur, Makarpura, Maretha, Vadsar, Maneha, etc. in the southern region had two options to travel to the eastern region—one option was Vadsar Bridge while the other was Vishwamitri Bridge. With the opening of the Manjalpur-Atladra bridge, the locals will have direct connectivity with less traffic and time. The commuters will be able to travel to the Atladra Khiskoli circle directly from Darbar Chokdi and move to Padra, Jambusar, Atladra, Bhayli, Bil, Talsat, Kalali, etc. areas. DeshGujarat
