Amedabad: Speaking at gathering of party workers, leader of opposition Rahul Gandhi today said here that “one out of ever two persons in Gujarat is with us.”

Addressing the party workers at Jade banquet hall in city, Rahul Gandhi said the opposition has 40 percent votes and it’s not a small opposition with some five percent vote share. It in Gujarat you place two persons, one belongs to BJP and the other to Congress. In any corner of Gujarat, 40 % are us, meaning one of two our. If our vote increases by five percent, that’s it. In Telangana we increased our vote by 22 percent. We need five percent here. But without filteration (of those in cohoots with BJP) five percent can’t be achieved. Wherever you want to take me, you do take me, I want to understand Gujarat and want to make relation with it.

He said Gujarat is stuck, Gujarat is not able to see the path. Gujarat wants to see the path and the Congress party in Gujarat has not been able to show the path. “We are not able to show the path to Gujarat,” he said. “Gujarat expected something from us that we have not been able to fulfill.”

Rahul said we need to seperate those who work as ‘B’ team of BJP and keep them out of the party, in whatever number they are. He said half of those in Congress who are disconnected from people are in cohoots with BJP.

Rahul seemed less assertive than his previous visit to Gujarat about the year 2027 election in the State. Last time he was very assertive about winning Gujarat. This time he said it’s not about winning next election but it’s about next fifty years. He said there are lions in the party but they are chained.

Today was the second day of Rahul Gandhi’s two-day visit to the State. Rahul Gandhi yesterday held series of meetings with party leaders at the State party headquarters in Paldi area here and heard and interacted with them.
