National Cooperative Taxi Management Service on the lines of Ola , Uber soon: Cooperation Minister Amit Shah

Jetalpur, Ahmedabad: Cab aggregator services Uber and Ola may have a new nationwide competitor in the near future. Cooperation Minister Amitbhai Shah today made an announcement indicating this.

Speaking at a function to mark 100 years of the Ahmedabad District Cooperative (ADC) Bank, the Cooperation Minister said an organization for the management of taxis will be created nationally on a cooperative basis for drivers, similar to Ola and Uber. “A national cooperative taxi management sanstha will be created on the lines of Ola and Uber nationally,” he said.

Shah also announced a target for the cooperative sector to achieve a 25 percent share in seed production nationwide. He also announced plans for the cooperative sector to enter into gas distribution. Shah said the Cooperative Banks of India (COBI), which is chaired by ADC Bank Chairman Ajay Patel, will soon make a national-level arrangement for clearing for cooperative banks.

Shah said Prime Minister Narendrabhai Modi set up the Cooperation Ministry, which had been demanded for a long time, but the past government didn’t pay attention to it. He added that the Cooperation Ministry has taken 60 initiatives in a short period. DeshGujarat
