We should encourage more Gujaratis to come here: Mauritius PM

Gandhinagar: May be we should encourage more Gujaratis to come here, said Mauritius Prime Minister Navin Ramgoolan while pointing out his own Gujarat connections and also taking note of the development of Gujarat under then Chief Minister and current Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Ramgoolan was speaking at the community reception event in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, External Affairs Minister Jaishankar who is also a Rajya Sabha member elected from Gujarat, NSA Ajit Doval and others.
“I was saying to the Prime Minister what he has done in India – in Gujarat first and then in the whole of India the remarkable speed with which things were done and also I was saying our first Speaker of the the National Assembly was from Gujarat my father’s political Mentor Vitthalbhai Patel was from Gujarat, so maybe we should encourage more gujaratis to come here,” PM Ramgoolan said which brought smile on the faces of Prime Minister Modi and EAM Jaishankar who both were present in the audience.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi too mentioned Gujarat in his address. He pointed out that sugar from Mauritius used to come once upon a time to Western India, and perhaps therefore in Gujarat, sugar is also called Moras (the word derived from source of sugar which was Mauritius. DeshGujarat
