March 23, 2025
Ahmedabad: Amid the statewide crackdown on anti-social elements, the illegal ‘Ismail Palace’ farmhouse belonging to gangster Mohammad Mushir Qureshi was bulldozed by district authorities on Saturday. The illegal structure, built on approximately 1,000 square meters of government land in Fatehwadi, Juhapura, was demolished following similar action against properties owned by another gangster, Kalu alias Gardan.
Qureshi, accused in three murder cases—including the daylight stabbing of RTI activist Nadeem Saiyed, for which he was later acquitted—had illegally constructed the haveli. He has also been booked in several other cases, including land grabbing, extortion, murder, and kidnapping.
DCP Zone-7 Shivam Verma confirmed that the illegal properties of both gangsters have been demolished. Authorities are also investigating multiple land plots linked to Qureshi and his associates across the city. DeshGujarat
