Plane crash lands near Mehsana airport; Trainee girl pilot on solo flight safe and out of danger

Mehsana: A two-seater Cessna 152 aircraft had a crash landing near Mehsana airport today. The female trainee pilot, who was on a solo flight, suffered minor injuries. However, she is safe, stable, and out of any danger. She is walking and mobile.

The incident occurred around 7 pm, with fire brigade sources stating that the trainee pilot, Alekhya Pechetti, sustained minor injuries. “She was first taken to a government hospital and later transferred to a private hospital for further treatment,” officials of Mehsana municipality fire department reported.

After flying for about an hour, Pechetti suspected a technical issue with the aircraft and notified the aviation institute. A team was sent to assist, but the aircraft made a hard landing in a field, causing damage.

According to BlueRay Aviation, the company’s team is with the pilot to render any support she may need, both medically and otherwise. Rohit Chivukua of Blue Ray Aviation Private Limited stated, “We are grateful that she is safe and well.”

The Mehsana Taluka police, along with the fire brigade, arrived at the scene. The cause of the crash is currently under investigation. DeshGujarat
