Drunk driver crashes into 10 vehicles in Vadodara

Vadodara: In yet another shocking case of drunk driving, a man allegedly under the influence of alcohol rammed his car into 10 vehicles on New VIP Road, from Khodiyar Nagar Char Rasta towards S.R. Petrol Pump near Baliadev Mandir, on Monday night. The incident, which occurred outside the society of Vadodara Mayor Pinkiben Soni, caused panic and left a pedestrian injured.
The incident occurred around 9 PM. According to locals, the driver was severely intoxicated and unable to stand when caught. He was reportedly so drunk that he could not even walk. Bystanders apprehended him, assaulted him, and handed him over to the Warsia police. A quarter bottle of liquor was found in the car, and the police had to drag the driver to the P.C.R. van as he was unable to walk.
The accused has been identified as Mitesh Rameshbhai Bariya, 25, a native of Tilakwada in Narmada district. Police are investigating where the liquor was sourced from, where he consumed it, and where he was headed at the time of the accident.
ACP M.P. Bhojani confirmed there was no loss of life and that the driver has been detained. “His medical samples are being collected. If no complainant comes forward, we will file a complaint on behalf of the government,” he said. DeshGujarat
