Vadodara: A 17-year-old student, Maitri Shah, lost her life in a tragic hit-and-run accident near Waghodia Bridge on Monday morning. She was riding her Activa scooter to Parul University when a speeding pickup van struck her under the bridge, killing her on the spot.

The incident was captured on CCTV cameras, which showed the van hitting the student and fleeing the scene. Following the incident, Kapurai police reached the location and began an investigation using the CCTV footage to trace the driver.

Maitri Shah was a second-year computer engineering student. Her untimely death sparked public outrage, with a crowd gathering at the site and leading to a minor traffic jam. Her body was sent to Sayaji Hospital for postmortem. In a noble gesture, her grieving family decided to donate her eyes.
