Academic Calendar 2025–26 for schools in Gujarat announced

Ahmedabad: The Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSEB) released its academic calendar for the 2025–26 academic year on Wednesday, detailing session timelines, exam dates, and holidays. The board exams for Classes 10 and 12 are scheduled to take place from February 26 to March 16, 2026.

The new academic year will begin on June 8, with the first term running from June 9 to October 15, comprising 105 teaching days. A 21-day Diwali vacation will follow, from October 16 to November 5. The second term will begin on November 6 and continue until May 3, 2026, with 144 teaching days. A 35-day summer vacation is scheduled from May 4 to June 7, 2026.

The calendar includes 80 non-teaching days, which account for major breaks along with 15 public and 9 local holidays. Key holidays such as Raksha Bandhan and Janmashtami will also be observed. Exam dates may be adjusted as per government directives.

First term exams for Classes 9 to 12 are scheduled from September 11 to 20, covering the June to August syllabus. Supplementary exams for Classes 10 and 12 will be held from June 16 to 26, 2025. Class 9 students will appear for an aptitude test on January 28, 2026.

School-level theory and practical exams for Classes 10 and 12 will be conducted from January 30 to February 3, 2026, while Class 12 science practicals are scheduled from February 5 to 13. Annual school exams for Classes 9 to 11 will take place from April 9 to 20, 2026. DeshGujarat
