MEA S Jaishankar on two-day Gujarat visit

Narmada: Union External Affairs Minister and Rajya Sabha MP from Gujarat, Dr. S. Jaishankar, is on a two-day visit to the state, during which he is visiting Narmada district today and tomorrow. During his visit, he is inaugurating and laying the foundation stone for development works worth approximately ₹11.66 crore in the villages of Vyadhar, Amdala, Lachras, Samot, and Bhadod, adopted under the MPLADS programme, as well as in four other villages across all five talukas of the district.

The minister arrived in Ektanagar this morning and then visited Vyadhar village, where he inspected the Health and Wellness Centre and inaugurated development works funded through his grant. He then proceeded to Amdala village to review the smart Anganwadi and smart classrooms at the primary school.

MEA Jaishankar also virtually inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for completed and newly approved projects in Samot village of Dediapada taluka and Bhadod village of Sagbara taluka, connecting remotely from Agar village.

Later, in Jetpur village, he is scheduled to lay the foundation stone for additional development works and flag off a newly allocated ambulance for the Garudeshwar Sub-District Hospital. He will then hold a review meeting with officials of the Narmada district administration at the VVIP Circuit House in Ektanagar, assessing the progress of works carried out under MPLADS.

On the second day of his visit, April 15, Dr. Jaishankar will inaugurate the gymnasium hall and various sports equipment at Chhotubhai Purani Vyayam Mahavidyalaya in Rajpipla, which have been expanded through his grant.
