EAM Jaishankar Gujarat visit Day 2: Opens gymnasium, inspects PSK

Rajpipla: External Affairs Minister of the Government of India Dr. S. Jaishankar is on a two-day visit to Narmada district. On the second day of his visit, he inaugurated the gymnasium hall and modern gym equipment, developed at a cost of ₹2.50 crore from his MPLADS grant, at Shri Chhotubhai Purani Gymnasium Vidyalaya in Rajpipla. He encouraged the budding young players and expressed happiness after witnessing the skills and feats of the gymnasium’s athletes.

Upon hearing the achievements of Silimkar Mayank and Devin Vasava, who received training at Shri Chhotubhai Purani Gymnasium and won silver medals in the National Level Trampoline Championship, he congratulated both athletes on their success and expressed satisfaction at seeing the results of the work done through his grant. The External Affairs Minister, visibly pleased, wished all the athletes well and reiterated his commitment to building a Fit India alongside a developed India.

Later, the External Affairs Minister visited the Passport Seva Kendra operating at the Rajpipla Post Office, where he interacted with Dr. Mitesh Jaiswal and his family, who had come from Surat for a new passport application. He also toured the post office, inspected the Aadhaar Service Center, and took a group photograph with the central employees to encourage them.

The Minister then proceeded to his adopted village, Lachras, in Nandod taluka. There, he visited the smart classroom built at a cost of ₹4.96 lakh at the primary school and observed students engaging with learning activities on the smart board. He later visited the nearby Shri Ramji Temple and offered prayers. Additionally, he inaugurated the smart Anganwadi built at a cost of ₹16 lakh from the MPLADS grant and interacted with the children, expressing appreciation. At the Anganwadi Center, a 6-month-old child, a beneficiary of various government schemes, was fed nutritious food, and the Minister extended his best wishes to the mother for the child’s healthy future. He also visited the Amrit Sarovar constructed in Lachras village and praised the water conservation efforts.

During his two-day visit to Narmada district, the Foreign Minister visited Vyadhar and Agar villages of Tilakwada taluka, Aamdala and Jetpur (Vagh.) villages of Garudeshwar taluka, and Lachras village of Nandod taluka — all adopted under MPLADS. He inaugurated a Health and Wellness Center, an ambulance, a smart Anganwadi, a smart classroom, and a primary school computer lab. He also dedicated a transport vehicle to Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Kevadiya Colony. Moreover, he laid the foundation stone for the LDR building, to be constructed at a cost of ₹5.40 crore in four villages — Jetpur in Garudeshwar, Agar in Tilakwada, Kolvan in Sagai village, and Sagai village in Dediapada taluka — under the MPLADS grant.

Across the two-day visit, the External Affairs Minister inaugurated development works worth a total of ₹11.66 crore for the education of students and the improvement of health facilities in the villages he has adopted. DeshGujarat
