Ahmedabad to get a new flyover in May; Load tests begin

Ahmedabad: The Amdavad Municipal Corporation(AMC)’s Bridge Project Department has announced the completion of construction of a new 2+2 lane split flyover bridge at the Pallav-Pragatinagar junction on the 132 feet Ring Road in the western zone of Ahmedabad.
The bridge, built by contractor Ajay Engineering Infra Pvt. Ltd., spans 935.60 meters towards Ghatlodia and 931.00 meters towards Ankur, with an estimated cost of ₹116.94 crore. The project was overseen by PMC agency, HCP Design Planning & Management Pvt. Ltd.
The superstructure work is complete, and under-space and finishing work are currently in progress. As per IRC code SP-51 provisions, a load test of 300 metric tons is being conducted on a 35.00-meter span (span P-24/25) at Pallav Junction. The load test began on April 15, 2025, under the supervision of the PMC agency.
The 300-metric-ton load will be maintained on span P-24/25 for 24 hours, and deflection measurements will be recorded. The load test is scheduled to be completed on April 18, 2025. The load test is being carried out according to codal provisions. DeshGujarat
