Four Baraf Gola Ice Dish outlets in Surat to face legal action by SMC over substandard items

Surat: In a proactive move ahead of the monsoon season, the Surat Municipal Corporation’s health department, under the guidance of the Health Officer, conducted inspections of various establishments in Surat city on April 3, 2025. Food Safety Officers from the food department carried out site visits at 13 locations, collecting 18 samples of ice dishes, ice gola, and cream for analysis at the Public Health Laboratory.

The results revealed that 4 of the samples did not meet the required standards. Consequently, legal action will be initiated against the following establishments/individuals in the Adjudicating Officer/Municipal Court.

Furthermore, approximately 35 kg/liters of syrup and cream from these establishments were destroyed.
