April 23, 2025
Bharuch: The Gujarat government has approved a grant of Rs 10 crore for the renovation and expansion of the Pandit Omkarnath Thakur Kala Bhavan (Town Hall).
The town hall, operated by the Bharuch Municipality, had fallen into a dilapidated condition, prompting a request for government funding for its renovation. As a Class A municipality, Bharuch was initially eligible for a grant of Rs 5 crore. However, following a recommendation from MLA Ramesh Mistry to the Chief Minister, a higher grant of Rs 10 crore has now been approved.
With this revamp, the seating capacity of the town hall, which was previously 672, will now be increased to 760, as per the new plan. DeshGujarat
