Rajkot: Social media misuse in the 21st century continues to rise, with the latest controversy involving the misuse of Artificial Intelligence (AI). In a recent case, a picture morphed with the help of AI went viral in Dhoraji, showing a female student and her teacher kissing, causing an uproar.

The victim, a Class 12 student studying in a school in a village near Dhoraji, reported the matter to Patanvav Police Station. In her complaint, she stated that the original photographs were taken when she was receiving awards at school. These photos were later edited by Ashish Kathiriya using AI to create an obscene and inappropriate image. This image was then shared on social media, causing distress to the student and her family.

Upon receiving the complaint, Patanvav Police registered a case under POCSO, the Atrocities Act, and other relevant sections, and arrested Ashish Kathiriya from Vadodar village. Further investigation is ongoing. DeshGujarat
