Rajkot: While the nation mourns the loss of innocent Hindu lives in the Pahalgam terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir, the BJP Mahila Morcha in Rajkot was seen celebrating the birthday of Anjali Rupani, wife of former Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani. The celebration, which was also attended by local MLA Darshita Shah, has drawn a backlash from the public for its insensitivity during such times.

Earlier the same night, the BJP Youth Wing had organized a condolence program at Kisanpara Chowk in Rajkot. During the ceremony, BJP and Youth Wing leaders lit candles and paid tribute to the victims while also burning effigies of Pakistan and terrorism to protest against the attack.

However, shortly after the tribute event, the BJP Women’s Wing proceeded with Anjali Rupani’s birthday celebration. Photos and videos of the celebration were widely shared on social media, sparking outrage. Several members of the Women’s Wing even posted these pictures on their personal statuses, drawing further criticism for what many perceived as a lack of sensitivity.  DeshGujarat
