Maximum temperature crosses 44°C in parts of Gujarat

Rajkot: Gujarat is reeling under intense heat as several cities recorded extreme temperatures on Sunday. Rajkot topped the chart with a maximum temperature of 44.4°C, followed closely by Surendranagar at 44.3°C, Bhuj at 43.8°C, and Amreli at 43.5°C.
According to today’s weather report (0830 IST, April 28, 2025), Ahmedabad recorded a maximum of 41.8°C, slightly above normal by 0.2°C, while Gandhinagar witnessed 40.8°C and Baroda reported daytime temperature at 40.2°C. Surat, being a coastal city, saw a cooler day with 34.2°C being the maximum temperature.
Humidity levels varied across the state, with morning readings between 40% and 92% in different regions. The Meteorological Department has advised residents to take precautions against heat-related illnesses as the mercury is expected to rise further after 1–2 days. DeshGujarat
