ACB Gujarat nabs police constable in ₹25000 bribe case
April 29, 2025
Palanpur: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Gujarat today nabbed an unarmed police constable posted at the Palanpur Taluka Police Station for accepting a bribe of ₹25,000.
According to the ACB, the complainant had previous criminal cases registered against him and feared that his property might be targeted under the ongoing government drive to demolish illegal constructions belonging to anti-social elements. Although the accused constable, Arvindbhai Bhikhabhai Aal (Desai), had no official role in the demolition activities, he allegedly demanded ₹25,000 to ensure that the complainant’s house would not be included in the demolition list.
Unwilling to pay the bribe, the complainant approached the Banaskantha ACB. Acting on the complaint, the ACB laid a trap on Dairy Road, opposite Shivalaya Society in Palanpur. During the operation, the constable was caught red-handed while accepting the full bribe amount at a sugarcane juice stall by the roadside. Further investigation is underway. DeshGujarat
