Fingerprints of 14 illegal Bangladeshis uploaded on Foreigners Identification Portal by Vadodara Police

Vadodara: As part of a state-wide crackdown on illegal Bangladeshi migrants living in the city, Vadodara Police on Tuesday detained 50 more suspects. Under the drive that entered its 4th day, 1,750 suspected illegal migrants have been screened so far. Among them, 14 have been confirmed to be Bangladeshi nationals found living illegally in the city.
These individuals are currently being held in a temporary detention centre while police upload their fingerprints and photographs to the Foreigners Identification Portal. A special team from Vadodara Police has also reached West Bengal to verify the identities of 66 suspects and gather supporting evidence.
The operation is being conducted zone-wise under the supervision of City Police Commissioner Narasimha Komar, who confirmed that 14 Bangladeshi nationals residing illegally in various parts of the city have been identified. All of them have been detained under the provisions of The Foreigners Act, 1946. DeshGujarat
