Rajkot Rural Police nabs three Pakistani nationals from Lodhika for illegal stay
May 03, 2025
Rajkot: Police have detained three Pakistani nationals, including a woman and a minor, who had been living illegally in Gujarat for over two decades. The Rajkot Rural LCB team carried out the operation in Lodhika taluka and nabbed Rizwanaben Munafbhai Tatariya (50), her son Zeeshan Munafbhai Tatariya (29), and Zeeshan’s minor son.
Acting on a specific tip-off about the presence of Pakistani nationals illegally residing in Lodhika taluka, the Rajkot Rural Police carried out the operation and detained the mother-son duo, who had entered India from Pakistan around 1999 and never returned. Upon investigation, the individuals failed to produce any valid Indian documents, such as a voter ID or Aadhaar card.
According to preliminary investigations, Rizwanaben was born in Karachi in 1975 and married Munafbhai of Rajkot in 1992, who had gone to Pakistan on a work permit. In Pakistan, they had a son, Zeeshan, and later Munafbhai moved back to India in 1994. In 1999, Rizwanaben and her son Zeeshan came to India on a joint Pakistani passport. They were supposed to return after their visa expired, but the family overstayed and settled in Lodhika.
In a further revelation, Zeeshan reportedly married an Indian woman in 2021 despite being a Pakistani national. The couple had a son in 2022, who is now two years old. Senior police officers are currently interrogating the family, and legal proceedings are underway.
Acting on the Gujarat government’s directive to take strict action against illegal infiltration, the Rajkot district police—under the guidance of Rajkot Range IG Ashokkumar Yadav and District Police Chief Himkar Singh—along with the rural SOG and LCB teams, have been actively investigating suspected infiltration across the district, during which these Pakistani nationals were detained.
