Class 12 Board Results: Student in Surat who ended life fearing failure, clears all subjects

Surat: A 16-year-old student from the Dindoli area took his own life by hanging himself with a rope from a ceiling fan, fearing poor results in two subjects of his Class 12 board exams. However, when the results were announced on Monday, it was revealed that he had passed all subjects, including the two he was worried about.

According to information from SMIMER Hospital, the deceased, Yogesh Patil, originally from Maharashtra, was residing with his family in Yogeshwarnagar, Dindoli. His father, Ravindrabhai Patil, worked at a diamond factory in the Varachha area. Yogesh, a Class 12 commerce student at Suman High School, had recently appeared for his board exams and was anxious about his performance in two subjects.

On Sunday night, Yogesh’s family went to sleep on the verandah of their home. When they woke up on Monday morning, they found Yogesh hanging from the ceiling fan.

The local police were informed and arrived at the scene. Yogesh’s body was sent to SMIMER Hospital for a post-mortem examination.

Yogesh had reportedly taken this drastic step fearing failure, but when the results were checked, it was confirmed that he had passed all his subjects — including the two that had caused him anxiety.
