Gujarat’s 7 airports in latest NOTAM declared by Govt of India ; to remain shut on May 9
May 08, 2025
Jamnagar: Amid heightened border tensions, the Government of India has brought seven airports in Gujarat under the latest Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) restrictions. The move is part of enhanced national security measures following a series of failed aerial threats from across the border.
Among the 24 airports for which NOTAM has been issued, Jamnagar, Rajkot (Hirasar), Porbandar, Keshod, Kandla, Bhuj, and Mundra (Adani) airports in Gujarat have been closed to civil aviation. It is understood that the closures will remain in effect until 11:59 PM IST on May 9, unless extended or revised by the relevant authorities.
The NOTAM, which temporarily restricts flight operations, aims to maintain aerial safety and ensure operational readiness of the armed forces. The notification was issued after a series of drone and missile attacks by Pakistan targeted multiple locations in Jammu, as well as parts of Punjab and Rajasthan. Indian defence systems successfully intercepted and neutralised the threats. DeshGujarat
