Cashless facility resumes for 2 insurers at Ahmedabad hospitals as AHNA lifts suspension
May 10, 2025
Ahmedabad: After nearly a month of suspension, the Ahmedabad Hospitals & Nursing Homes Association (AHNA) announced on Friday that it has reinstated cashless services for policyholders of Star Health Insurance and Care Health Insurance. This move follows assurances from both insurers to address pending issues.
Earlier, in April, AHNA had suspended cashless services for Star Health, Tata AIG, and Care Health Insurance, citing delays in claim settlements and unresolved service-related problems. During the suspension, hospitals were advised to guide patients toward reimbursement options while ensuring minimal disruption. AHNA clarified that the suspension was part of a broader effort to hold defaulting insurers accountable and safeguard the interests of healthcare providers.
“Given the positive response and commitment shown by both companies, AHNA has decided to restore cashless facilities for Star Health and Care Health Insurance policyholders,” the association said in a statement.
Meanwhile, the cashless facility for policyholders of Tata AIG Health Insurance remains suspended, as AHNA and the company have not yet reached any consensus. DeshGujarat
