Gandhinagar: The Gujarat government has extended the jurisdiction of the Ahmedabad City Police Commissionerate, incorporating multiple regions from Ahmedabad Rural and Gandhinagar districts. This expansion also brings portions of the SP Ring Road and adjacent service roads within city limits.

In a notification issued on Tuesday, the state home department confirmed that the decision, based on a proposal from the Director General of Police (DGP), was approved via a resolution dated May 3. The aim is to strengthen administrative oversight and enhance public access to police services, particularly in the rapidly developing zones surrounding the Ring Road.

As part of the reorganization, areas previously under police stations such as Adalaj, Dabhoda, Bopal, Changodar, Aslali, and Vivekanandnagar will now be governed by Ahmedabad City Police. As a result, the jurisdictions of city police stations Sola, Bodakdev, Sarkhej, Chandkheda, Naroda, Narol, Airport, and Vatva GIDC have been extended.

Under Bodakdev police station, areas from Bopal police station, stretching from Hebatpur Cut on the Ring Road to Shilaj Bridge, including both service roads, Shilaj Circle, and the railway track under the bridge, have been added.

Localities such as Gota, Hebatpur, and Khodiyar, covering the stretch from Vaishnodevi Circle to SGVP and KD Hospitals, have been moved from Bopal and Adalaj jurisdictions to Sola police station.

Areas such as Tragad, Khoraj, Tapovan Circle, Zundal Circle, Apollo Circle, Indira Bridge, and the Koteshwar village area and its borders, which were previously under Adalaj police station, now fall under Chandkheda police station.

Within the Sarkhej police station limits, areas from Changodar and Aslali police stations, including Sanathal toll plaza, Sanathal Circle, Bakrol, and surrounding toll plaza regions, have been added.

The area spanning from Ropda Bridge to the Expressway has also been transferred from Vivekanandnagar police station to Vatva GIDC police station. DeshGujarat
