Valsad Police nabs one for ‘anti-national’ post on Operation Sindoor

Valsad: The police has arrested one Vasim Khan, a scrap godown owner from Umargam, on Wednesday for allegedly circulating ‘anti-national’ content on social media and hurting public sentiments. Khan had reportedly forwarded a video on Facebook that was sent to him by another user.

Vasim was picked up from his residence in Khatalwadi village and has been booked under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including Sections 192, 196, 353, and 356. He was later placed under one-day police remand.

This marks the second such arrest by Valsad police in connection with objectionable posts related to India’s recent airstrike on Pakistan, Operation Sindoor, launched in retaliation for the Pahalgam terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir. Earlier, on May 7, police had arrested a Vapi salon worker for his controversial remarks about the operation.

According to police, a dedicated team has been monitoring digital platforms for posts that may incite communal tension or promote anti-national sentiments. DeshGujarat
