Surat: The Bridge Cell Department of Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) is progressing with the construction of a new railway overbridge on National Highway No. 53 near Sachin GIDC, between existing railway bridges. Due to this ongoing construction, the city civic body has announced several traffic diversions today.

This project features the first use of a 76-meter-long iron bowstring girder, a bow-shaped bridge, in Surat, weighing approximately 800 metric tonnes. The girder has already been assembled on-site. The construction site comprises four railway tracks: two belonging to Mumbai Central Railway and two to the Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation (DFCC). Consequently, the launching of the girder will be carried out from the existing bridges on both sides.

SMC requested a total block of 60 days—30 days each from Western Railway and DFCC—to complete the work. Considering train schedules and the summer vacations, the Railway Department granted verbal approval for a daily three-hour block for machinery operations. During this time, Sachin Satwalla Overbridge was closed to traffic for safety reasons.

SMC also obtained a no-objection certificate (NOC) from the traffic police, who assured full cooperation and implemented the necessary traffic diversions. The traffic diversions are planned as follows:

1. Drivers coming from Navsari to Surat city can take a right turn from Tulsi Hotel, go through SUDA to April Park, cross the Sachin Vanj Bridge, use National Highway No. 53, take a right turn under the Satwalla Overbridge and Budiya Bridge, and enter Surat city.

2. Vehicles coming from Palsana to Surat city can climb the Satwalla Overbridge on National Highway No. 53, go through the Gabheni Bridge and Budiya Bridge, and enter Surat.

3. Vehicles going from Navsari to Sachin GIDC can take a left turn from Sachin Char Rasta, go over the Sachin Railway Station Bridge, pass through Paligam Diamond Gate, and enter Sachin GIDC.

4. Vehicles going from Palsana to Sachin GIDC can take a left turn from the Palsana T-point, proceed via the Sachin-Navsari Main Road, take a right turn from Sachin Char Rasta, cross the Sachin Railway Station Bridge, take a right from Paligam Diamond Gate, and enter Sachin GIDC. Alternatively, they can take a left turn below the Vanj Bridge, go directly from Sachin Char Rasta to the Sachin Railway Station Bridge, take a right turn from Paligam Diamond Gate, and reach Sachin GIDC.

5. Drivers going from Budiya or Gabheni towards Sachin/Navsari/Maroli can use the overbridge on the National Highway instead of passing through Sachin GIDC Gate No. 1. They can go directly from the Vanj Overbridge to Sachin and take a right turn from April Park towards Sachin.

6. Drivers going towards Un can take a left turn from Sachin GIDC Gate No. 1 to Laxmi Villa in Sachin GIDC and proceed towards Sachin via Diamond Park.

7. Drivers coming from Un and going towards Palsana/Navsari can take a left turn from Platinum Plaza and proceed towards Palsana via the Bhanodra Overbridge.

The overbridge will remain closed during this period. While some inconvenience is expected, the municipal corporation aims to complete the project by Diwali, which is expected to significantly ease traffic from Surat to Navsari. DeshGujarat

સુરત મહાનગરપાલિકા ના બ્રીજસેલ વિભાગ ધ્વારા હજીરા−પલસાણા નેશનલ હાઇવે નં. પ૩ પર સચીન જી.આઇ.ડી.સી. નજીક રેલ્વે પર હયાત બ્રીજોની વચ્ચે નવો રેલ્વે ઓવર બ્રીજ બનાવવાની કામગીરી પ્રગતિ હેઠળ છે. આ રેલ્વે ઓવર બ્રીજમાં સુરત શહેરમાં પ્રથમવાર ૭૬.00મી. લંબાઇના લોખંડના બો સ્ટ્રીંગ ગર્ડરનો (ધનુષ આકારના બ્રીજ) રેલ્વે સ્પાનમાં ઉપયોગ કરવામાં આવનાર છે અંદાજે ૮00મે.ટન વજન ધરાવતો આ બ્રીજ સ્થળ પર તૈયાર કરી દેવામાં આવેલ છે તેમજ બ્રીજસેલ વિભાગ ધ્વારા રેલ્વે વિભાગમાં પાવર બ્લોક અને ટ્રાફિક બ્લોકની મંજુરી માટે પરવાનગી માંગવામાં આવેલ છે. આ સ્થળે મુંબઇ સેન્ટ્રલ રેલ્વે ની બે(0ર) તથા ડી.એફ.સી.સી. ની બે(0ર) મળી કુલ ચાર રેલ્વે ટ્રેકો આવેલ છે તેમજ બંને તરફ હયાત બ્રીજો હોવાથી આ લોન્ચીંગ કામગીરી બંને હયાત બ્રીજો પરથી કરવી પડે છે.

આ કામગીરી અંદાજે ૬0 દિવસ સુધી ચાલે તેમ છે જેથી વેર્સ્ટન રેલ્વે પાસે ૩0 દિવસ તેમજ ડી.એફ.સી.સી. વિભાગ પાસે ૩0 દિવસ મળી એમ કુલ ૬0 દિવસનો બ્લોક સુરત મહાનગરપાલિકા ધ્વારા માંગવવામાં આવેલ છે જે અન્વયે રેલ્વે વિભાગ ધ્વારા હાલમાં ચાલતા વેકેશનને ધ્યાને રાખી દિવસમાં કોઇપણ ૩ (ત્રણ) કલાક માટે ટ્રેનની મુવમેન્ટ ધ્યાને લઇ બ્લોક ફાળવવા મૌખિક જણાવેલ છે. બ્લોક દરમ્યાન હયાત બ્રીજ પરથી મશીનરી મુકી કામગીરી કરવાની રહેતી હોય ટ્રાફિકની સલામતી ખાતર રેલ્વે વિભાગ ધ્વારા જયારે પણ આ બ્લોક ફાળવવામાં આવે તે સમય દરમયાન સચીન સાતવલ્લા ઓવર બ્રીજને ટ્રાફિક માટે બંધ રાખવો પડે તેમ છે. સુરત મહાનગરપાલિકા ધ્વારા ટ્રાફિક પાલીસ વિભાગ પાસે પણ એન.ઓ.સી. માંગવામાં આવેલ છે. જે અંગે ટ્રાફિક પોલીસ વિભાગ ધ્વારા પણ પૂરેપૂરો સહકાર આપવા જણાવેલ છે તેમજ બ્રીજ બંધ કરવા માટે નીચે જણાવ્યા મુજબ ડાયવર્ઝન આપવા જણાવેલ છે.

1. નવસારી તરફથી સુરત શહેરમાં આવતા વાહન ચાલકો તુલશી હોટલથી જમણી બાજુએ ટર્ન લઇને સુડા માંથી એપ્રલ પાર્ક થઇને સચીન વાંઝ બ્રીજ થઇને નેશનલ હાઇવે નં.પ૩ નો ઉપયોગ કરીને સાતવલ્લા ઓવરબ્રીજ તથા બુડીયા બ્રીજ નીચેથી જમણી બાજુએ ટર્ન લઇને સુરત શહેરમાં થઇ શકશે.

2. પલસાણા તરફથી સુરત શહરેમાં આવતા વાહનો નેશનલ હાઇવે પ૩ ઉપર આવેલ સાતવલ્લા ઓવર બ્રીજ ચઢીને ગભેણી બ્રીજ તથા બુડીયા બ્રીજ નીચેથી જમણી બાજુએ ટર્ન લઇને જઇ શકશે.

3. નવસારી તરફથી સચીન જી.આઇ.ડી.સી. મા જતા વાહનો સચીન ચાર રસ્તા થી ડાબી બાજુએ ટર્ન લઇને સચીન રેલ્વે સ્ટેશન બ્રીજ થઇને પાલીગામ ડાયમંડ ગેટ થી જમણી બાજુએ ટર્ન લઇને સચીન જી.આઇ.ડી.સી માં જઇ શકશે.

4. પલાસાણા તરફથી સચીન જી.આઇ.ડી.સી. મા જતા વાહનો પલસાણા ટી પોઇન્ટ થી ડાબી બાજુએ ટર્ન લઇને સચીન નવસારી મેઇન રોડ થઇને સચીન ચાર રસ્તા થી જમણી બાજુ ટર્ન લઇને સચીન રેલ્વે સ્ટેશન બ્રીજ થઇને પાલીગામ ડાયમંડ ગેટ થી જમણી બાજુએ ટર્ન લઇને સચીન જી.આઇ.ડી.સી.માં જઇ શકશે. તથા વાંઝ બ્રીજ નીચેની ડાબી બાજુએ ટર્ન લઇને સચીન ચાર રસ્તા થી સીધા સચીન રેલ્વે સ્ટેશન બ્રીજ થઇને પાલીગામ ડાયમંડ ગેટ થી જમણી બાજુએ ટર્ન લઇને સચીન જી.આઇ.ડી.સી.મા જઇ શકશે.

5. બુડીયા ગભેણી થી સચીન/નવસારી/મરોલી તરફ જતા વાહન ચાલકો સચીન જી.આઇ.ડી.સી. ગેટ નં. ૧ જવાના બદલે નેશનલ હાઇ વે પર આવેલ ઓવરબ્રીજ થઇને સીધા વાંઝ ઓવર બ્રીજ નીચેથી જમણી બાજુએ ટર્ન લઇને અપ્રેલ પાર્ક થઇને સચીન તરફ જઇ શકશે.

6. ઉન તરફ જતા વાહન ચાલકો સચીન જી.આઇ.ડી.સી. ગેટ નં. ૧ થી સચીન જી.આઇ.ડી.સી.માંથી લક્ષ્મી વિલા થી ડાબી બાજુએ ટર્ન લઇને ડાયમંડ પાર્ક થઇને સચીન તરફ જઇ શકશે.

7. ઉન તરફથી આવતા અને પલસાણા/નવસારી તરફ જતા વાહન ચાલકો પ્લેટીનમ પ્લાઝાથી ડાબી બાજુએ ટર્ન લઇને ભણોદ્રા ઓવરબ્રીજ થઇને પલસાણા તરફ જઇ શકશે.

ઉપરોકત કામગીરી દરમ્યાન બ્રીજ બંધ રહેવામાં આવનાર હોય, લોકોને થોડી તકલીફ પડે તેમ છે પરંતુ રેલ્વે વિભાગ ધ્વારા સમયસર મંજુરી મળી રહે તો નવો બ્રીજ આગામી દિવાળી સુધીમાં તૈયાર થઇ જાય તેમ હોય, સુરત−નવસારી જતા વાહન ચાલકોને ટ્રાફિકમાં રાહત મળે તેમ છે.
