All Border Villages of Vav-Suigam Taluka now Equipped with Siren Alert System: Govt

Banaskantha: Security has been further strengthened in the villages near the India-Pakistan border in Banaskantha, as the district administration has installed a modern siren alert system in these villages.
Banaskantha District Collector Shri Mihir Patel stated that, keeping in mind the recent situation, a civil defense siren system was installed in villages along the international border of Vav and Suigam talukas. This siren has a range of three and a half kilometers. Initially, the siren system was installed in 22 villages along the Vav-Suigam border area. Now, the siren system has been installed in all 122 villages of Vav-Suigam. Siren systems have been set up in 43 villages in Vav and 79 villages in Suigam, including locations such as gram panchayats, dairies, schools, and others. As a precautionary measure, a siren system has also been installed at the district police station. Additionally, work is underway to install sirens with a range of eight kilometers at the headquarters of all talukas. These sirens serve to warn citizens in advance.
Suigam Provincial Officer Dr. Arvind Kumar Prajapati said that the siren system plays an important role in the border area. By installing the siren system in all villages of the Vav-Suigam area, the security of citizens has been strengthened. Mock drills and training for siren use were also organized. The siren system is crucial for prompt citizen response. The people of the border area have become well-trained to handle any situation, he added.
Gauswami Gautampuri of Dudhasan village in the border area said, “My village is located near the international border. The government has installed a siren system in our village. Whenever the siren sounds, we become alert and turn off the village lights.”
Thakor Rakshisbhai of Dudhasan village said, “We were afraid of rumors spreading in our village on the Pakistan border, but the state government has installed a siren system, which has given us greater security.”
Jagdishbhai of Boru village in the border area said, “Recently, during the tense situation, we were afraid of various rumors circulating on social media, but the state government installed a siren system in the village to ensure our safety. Now, we will be able to reach safe places immediately.” DeshGujarat
