Amreli waterlogged after over 3 inches of rainfall in 2 hours

Amreli: District headquarters Amreli town in Amreli district of coastal Saurashtra region in Gujarat received over 3 inches of rains in just two hours during 6 pm to 8 pm on Friday evening. Water logging was witnessed in low lying areas of Amreli town, and some residents also complained about flood water entering inside their houses.Some residents complained the water logging inside the houses in Vidyanagar society on Lathi road was due to some height of ongoing railway broad gauge development work.
The rainfall was slow during 4 pm to 6 pm as per the official data and it was over half inch (15 mm), but during 6 pm to 8 pm it was recorded 80 mm. The total rainfall was 3.15 inch as of 8 pm.
Mendarda in Junagadh district received 1.73 inch rain, while Lathi had 1.30, Mangrol had 1.26, Prabhas Patan – Veraval had 0.83 inch rainfall. Maliya Hatina, Vanthali, Gadhada, Bagasara, Talala, Gariadhar were other areas of Saurashtra where less than one inch rainfall was witnessed on Thursday.DeshGujarat
