Ready Mix Concrete plants to relocate from residential areas in Ahmedabad
May 23, 2025
Ahmedabad: The Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has directed the relocation of Ready-Mix Concrete (RMC) plants operating within residential areas to reduce pollution. This decision was made during the Standing Committee meeting on Thursday.
Currently, over 50 RMC plants operate in the city, many situated close to residential neighborhoods. Officials have been tasked with creating a detailed policy within two months to move all RMC plants to peripheral locations like Nana Chiloda, Hebatpur, and Bhadaj.
Standing Committee Chairman Devang Dani highlighted that many RMC plants are located in urban zones near housing societies, causing pollution. Builders often establish these plants near construction sites for convenience, but this practice poses significant environmental and health hazards. DeshGujarat
