Junagadh: A message is going viral on WhatsApp that could possibly trigger a Hindu vs Jain conflict in Girnar.

The WhatsApp message, along with a video, says, “There is a temple of Lord Neminath at Girnar. As many people as possible should register this. For this, just turn on the video and everything else will happen on its own. I have done that. Now it’s your turn to forward this message only to our Jain group.”

The video shows how someone can go to Google Maps and edit the description of the Bhagwan Neminath Temple in Girnar. First, the temple category is changed from “Hindu Temple” to “Jain Temple.” Then, in the Gujarati section, the name is changed from “Guru Dattatreya Mandir” to “Neminath Jain Temple.”

This video is being widely shared on Facebook and WhatsApp along with a Google Maps link, urging people to suggest these edits.

A social media user shared screenshots and screen recordings of the video and flagged it as dangerous, writing, “This is dangerous. Some antisocial elements are trying to create a Hindu vs Jain conflict in Girnar. This is truly a big conspiracy to divide a community that has lived together peacefully for years. Strict action should be taken against such elements.” DeshGujarat
