Passenger Opens Emergency Exit, Grounds Goa-Surat IndiGo Flight; Police Complaint Filed

Surat: An IndiGo flight from Goa to Surat was grounded on Monday after a passenger from Surat allegedly opened the emergency exit before the aircraft could take off. The incident, involving passenger Divyesh Sidpara, led to a police complaint being filed at the Dabolim Police Station in Goa.
According to the complaint lodged by Assistant Manager (Security) at IndiGo Airlines, the passenger tampered with the emergency flap cover despite clear instructions from the flight crew. The crew immediately intervened to manage the situation.
The incident is being treated as a serious security breach. The Dabolim Police Station has registered a case under Section 125 of the BNS 2023. A PSI from Dabolim Police Station stated that the passenger’s attempt to open the emergency exit could have endangered the lives of other passengers. Authorities are investigating the matter, and legal action will be taken against the individual responsible. DeshGujarat
