Self Baggage Drop facility commences at T2 of Ahmedabad Airport
July 22, 2025
Ahmedabad: Just like domestic travellers, international travellers flying out of Ahmedabad can now also enjoy a faster baggage check-in experience, as the self baggage drop facility has become operational at Terminal 2 (T2) of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International (SVPI) Airport.
Emirates is the first airline to offer this service to its passengers under the initiative rolled out by the airport operator, with other airlines expected to join in the coming months. The self baggage drop facility had already been introduced in 2023 at the airport’s domestic Terminal 1 (T1).
At present, around 15–20 Emirates passengers use the facility daily at T2, covering about 30–40 pieces of luggage. Airport authorities anticipate this number to rise as more travellers embrace the digital process. Passengers using the facility need to enter their PNR details, scan their passports, print baggage tags and boarding passes, and then drop off their tagged luggage at Counters 21 and 22 in T2.
Once bags are deposited, travellers can directly proceed to security checks. DeshGujarat
