PM Modi tops global leader approval ratings again; remains ‘most trusted leader’ in world

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has once again been ranked as the world’s most popular leader, securing a 75 per cent approval rating, according to the latest figures released by US-based business intelligence firm Morning Consult. Following him on the list were South Korean President Lee Jae Myung and Argentina’s President Javier Milei.

Interestingly, US President Donald Trump failed to make it to the top five, ranking eighth with an approval rating of just 44%.

The survey was conducted between July 4 and July 10, 2025, using a rolling seven-day average of opinions gathered from adults across various countries. Morning Consult, known for its real-time tracking of global leader approval, collected daily responses to build a more accurate reflection of public sentiment.

The results showed that three out of every four people surveyed had a favorable view of Modi’s leadership. Meanwhile, 18% disapproved, and 7% remained undecided.

South Korean President Lee Jae Myung’s second place is noteworthy, given that he has held office for barely a month. His approval stood at 59%, with 29% disapproval and 13% having no clear opinion.

In contrast, Donald Trump, who returned to power last year, ranked eighth with only 44% approval despite his strong election mandate. Analysts suggest that some of Trump’s domestic and trade policy decisions may have negatively impacted his popularity.

The complete top 10 list included Argentina’s Javier Milei (57%), Canada’s Mark Carney (56%), Australia’s Anthony Albanese (54%), Mexico’s Claudia Sheinbaum (53%), Switzerland’s Karin Keller-Sutter (48%), Poland’s Donald Tusk (41%), and Italy’s Giorgia Meloni (40%).

BJP IT cell head Amit Malviya highlighted the report on social media platform X, writing, “Loved by over a billion Indians and respected by millions across the globe, PM Narendra Modi tops the Morning Consult Global Leader Approval Tracker once again — the highest-rated and most trusted leader worldwide. Strong leadership. Global respect. Bharat is in safe hands.”

Separately, PM Modi recently surpassed former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi to become the second-longest serving Prime Minister in an uninterrupted term. As of Friday, he completed 4,078 consecutive days in office, overtaking Gandhi’s record of 4,077 days from January 24, 1966, to March 24, 1977. DeshGujarat
