IT Dept conducts searches in Rajkot
August 02, 2025
Rajkot: Intelligence & Criminal Investigation wing of the Income Tax Department has carried out searches at the office of the Sub-Registrar, Zone 5, in Rajkot.
It is learnt that after the probe at the Sub-Registrar office, the IT department might launch an operation against builders across the district. According to reports, irregularities have been found during the inspection of documents from the past five years. These irregularities include PAN card mismatches, fake PAN numbers, and wrong property valuations.
The IT sleuths started the probe at the registrar’s office after documents related to the sale of properties valued over ₹30 lakh in 2024-25 were found to be insufficient. Following this, it is highly likely that the probe might expand to builders involved in these irregularities.
