Mamata Banerjee insults Gujaratis

Ahmedbad: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, speaking at a public event in Purba Bardhaman, went on to insult Gujarati peopel while dwaring  contrast between the global influence of Bengalis and the treatment of Gujaratis by US President Donald Trump.

“Trump chased away Gujaratis, but institutions like Harvard, Oxford, Columbia, and cities like San Francisco can’t function without Bengalis,” she stated.

At the government programme in Bardhaman town, which aimed to distribute benefits of social welfare schemes, Banerjee highlighted that West Bengal hosts 1.5 crore outsiders, yet they are treated with respect unlike Bengali-speaking people, who she claims face mistreatment elsewhere.

This is not the fierst time that the Bengal CM has target the Gujarati ealeir in 2021 without naming him, she referred to her former aide Suvendu Adhikari, now with the BJP, noting that while he labels himself a “bhoomiputra” (son of the soil), outsiders from Gujarat are being welcomed in Bengal. “I was born in Birbhum, yet some call me an outsider. Today Bengal’s daughter has become an outsider for some people,” she said, drawing chants of “Didi we want you” from the crowd. DeshGujarat
