IndiGo flight from Surat to Dubai makes emergency landing at Ahmedabad airport

Ahmedabad: A major mid-air scare occurred on Thursday when an IndiGo flight (6E-1507) from Surat to Dubai, carrying over 150 passengers, made an emergency landing at Ahmedabad due to a technical fault in one of its engines.

The flight, which departed from Surat airport around 9:30 am, developed an engine fault mid-air. The pilot quickly alerted Air Traffic Control and diverted the aircraft to Ahmedabad’s Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport, where it landed safely at about 11:40 am. While the announcement of the engine issue initially caused panic among passengers, the crew managed to calm the situation, and no injuries were reported.

Airport officials confirmed that IndiGo engineers conducted a detailed inspection of the aircraft after landing. Passengers were later flown to Dubai on an alternate aircraft at around 1:45 pm. Flight operations at Ahmedabad remained normal, with no other disruptions.

IndiGo stated that a thorough probe into the engine fault is underway and assured that all safety checks will be completed before the affected aircraft is cleared for service. DeshGujarat
