Gujarat attracts ₹86,418 crore investment in MSME sector in 5 years: Govt

Gandhinagar: The Gujarat government on Friday stated that joint efforts by the Union and state governments to boost small industries and generate employment have led to an estimated capital investment of Rs 86,418 crore in the state between 2021 and 2025, creating over 3.98 lakh jobs. Additionally, assistance worth Rs 7,300 crore was disbursed in response to more than 1.69 lakh claims over the past five years.

The government added that under the ‘Zero Defect Zero Effect’ (ZED) initiative, Gujarat emerged as a national leader, with around 1.1 lakh MSME units registered and over 66,000 units receiving ZED certification. Programs like ZED registration, certification, and Vibrant Gujarat have positioned the state at the forefront of the country’s MSME sector.

The statement further noted that in the last three years, the state recorded roughly 17.39 lakh enterprise registrations, with more than 2.91 lakh women entrepreneurs participating. DeshGujarat
