September 11, 2025
Junagadh: Sanitation workers of the Junagadh Municipal Corporation (JMC) have continued their strike for the second consecutive day, protesting over unresolved demands. The workers gathered at the dumping site in Hajiyaani Bagh, highlighting their concerns regarding employment and working conditions.
The striking employees are demanding the implementation of voluntary retirement rules for permanent sanitation staff and employment opportunities for the heirs of existing workers.
Around 700 sanitation workers have stopped work across Junagadh, leading to a halt in cleaning activities for the second day. Door-to-door garbage collection has also been suspended. The workers are also seeking permanent employment for door-to-door waste collectors and fixed salaries for the staff of the sanitation task force. DeshGujarat
