Advisory issued for Gujarat farmers as MSP peanut crop verification underway; registration extended
September 17, 2025
Gandhinagar: The Gujarat government today announced that the registration period for MSP (Minimum Support Price) procurement of peanut, green gram (moong), black gram (urad), and soybean crops has been extended until September 22. This extension aims to enable the maximum number of farmers in the state to benefit from MSP procurement. As of September 17, more than 8.79 lakh farmers have registered for peanuts, over 66,000 for soybeans, more than 5,000 for urad, and over 1,100 for MSP-based sales.
Dr. Anju Sharma, Additional Chief Secretary of the Agriculture and Farmer Welfare Department, said that, similar to last year, this year too the registrations for MSP procurement are being verified by comparing survey numbers with satellite imagery and digital crop surveys. During this verification process, less than 10% of registered farmers were found to have no peanut crop in their survey number. Farmers with such survey numbers have been informed via SMS, but they need not worry.
Assuring farmers, Dr. Sharma said that if a farmer has cultivated peanuts in the survey number shown during registration but has still received such an SMS, they should approach the Gram Sevak at the earliest to get the crop and survey number verified. The office of the Director of Agriculture has sent a list of all such survey numbers to the district level.
Additionally, farmers can contact their local surveyor to conduct a digital crop survey for the survey number shown in their registration. Farmers also have the option to download the Digital Crop Survey-Gujarat application from their phone’s Play Store and carry out the survey themselves. Training for conducting digital crop surveys via mobile phones will also be provided by the Agriculture Department through the Vande Gujarat channel, to ensure maximum participation.
Dr. Sharma requested farmers to take a geo-tagged photo of the peanut crop they have registered as proof. She emphasized that farmers who have sown peanuts in the registered survey number need not worry. After verification, MSP-based procurement of the eligible quantity will be carried out. DeshGujarat
