Ahmedabad: On the occasion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 75th birthday today, the World’s Largest Blood Donation Camp is being organized at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad. The event is held under ‘Raktadan Amrit Mahotsav 2.0’ by the Akhil Bharatiya Terapanth Yuvak Parishad (ABTYP).
The event was virtually inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi this morning. Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, along with actor Vivek Oberoi, participated in the event, motivating donors and emphasizing the importance of blood and organ donation. Vivek Oberoi, who had portrayed Prime Minister Modi in a Bollywood biopic, also donated blood at the camp.
Simultaneously, over 7,500 blood donation camps are taking place across India and in more than 75 countries worldwide, aiming to collect 5 lakh units of blood in a single day.
Gujarat Minister of State for Home, Harsh Sanghavi, said, “This historic initiative, inspired by Modi ji’s vision of ‘Seva Parmo Dharma,’ reflects the spirit of compassion and collective responsibility towards humanity. Blood donation is not just about saving lives; it is about nurturing hope, strengthening communities, and building a healthier nation.”
It is also noteworthy that on Tuesday, state government employee unions had already set a world record with the ‘Namo ke Naam Raktadan’ initiative on the eve of PM Modi’s birthday. They had organized 378 mega blood donation camps, collecting a massive 56,265 units of blood.
Today, thousands of donors, along with numerous volunteers and organizers, have come together to make this noble cause a success, further setting a record in voluntary blood donation. DeshGujarat
