Surat’s Citylight Joggers Park to get ₹7 crore makeover
September 29, 2025
Surat: Health enthusiasts will soon see a new look at the popular Joggers Park in the Citylight area, a favorite spot for morning and evening walks. The Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) has initiated plans to redesign and redevelop the park, located near Ghoddod Road, at an estimated cost of ₹7 crore. The redevelopment will cover approximately 1.35 kilometers of the park.
Situated in the Athwa Zone, next to the Navsari Agriculture University area, this park holds a special place in the hearts of Surat residents, particularly morning and evening walkers. As one of the first and oldest Joggers Parks in the Ghoddod Road area, it has been a hub for health-conscious citizens for over a decade.
The redevelopment plan was included in the municipal budget prepared last year, following suggestions from the city’s elected representatives. Now, the Athwa Zone administration has initiated the tendering process for the project. The plan includes upgrading the entry gate, surrounding railings, and introducing a heritage-themed design at the entrance.
Once the tender process is complete and work begins, residents can look forward to experiencing a refreshed and modernized Joggers Park in the Citylight area, combining functionality with aesthetic appeal. DeshGujarat
