United Way, LVP Heritage Garba in Vadodara Called Off on Monday for Second Consecutive Evening
September 29, 2025
Vadodara: Owing to persistent rainfall and prevailing ground conditions, the United Garba Mahotsav will remain closed tonight, announced the organisers of United Way Garba this evening. This means the famous garba event has been cancelled for the second consecutive night.
The message conveyed to khelaiyas via social media post said, “With a heavy heart, we regret to announce that today’s (29th September 2025, Monday) Garba cannot take place due to the persistent rain.”
“Your safety and comfort remain our top priority. We appreciate your understanding and look forward to welcoming you soon,” the Insta post said.
Similarly, the Lukshmi Vilas Palace Heritage Garba has also been called off. The organisers stated: “Due to heavy rainfall, Heritage Garba at LVP will remain closed tonight. Your safety and comfort matter the most to us. Stay safe and keep the festive spirit alive, we’ll dance again soon!”

This comes as disappointing news for the thousands of khelaiyas who gather at Kalali Ground to dance to the music of renowned Garba singer Atul Purohit. After Sunday’s rainfall, several major events, including LVP, Vadodara Navratri Festival (VNF) at Navlakhi Ground, Vadodara Vibrant Navratri (VVN), and others, were called off as the grounds were left muddy and wet, making Garba impossible.
The situation today also seems unfavorable at the United Way and LVP Grounds, as festivities have again been called off due to light drizzle in the city.
Meanwhile, the VNF Garba will take place as scheduled, according to the organisers’ social media post: “The ground awaits your energy tonight at VNF! See you there!” Additionally, Maa Shakti Garba, which took place as usual on Sunday night, is scheduled to continue today.
As no official announcements regarding the cancellation of VVN and other events have been made, khelaiyas might still be able to participate in Garba at some venues. DeshGujarat
