Rajkot: A five-year-old girl died on Monday morning after being attacked by a stray dog in the Shapar-Veraval area on the outskirts of Rajkot.

The victim, Viral Vianama, the daughter of a migrant labourer, had recently come to stay at a relative’s house in Shapar-Veraval. According to her family, she was playing outside when a stray dog bit her on the neck, causing severe bleeding. She was first taken to a nearby hospital and then referred to Rajkot Civil Hospital, where she was pronounced dead shortly after admission.

This marks the second fatal dog attack on a child in the area in the past five months. In May, a six-year-old boy was killed when a pack of stray dogs mauled him in front of his mother. DeshGujarat
