Gandhinagar: Nishith Jani who was on 17 September arrested by Gandhinagar sector seven police for his alleged involvement in leaking of documents of the State government body Gujarat Maritime Board died during hospitalisation in Civil hospital of Ahmedabad. Jani was accused of leaking GMD documents that were found in possession of journalist Mahesh Langa who was then correspondent of The Hindu newspaper. Jani was employee of GMB. He was arrested on September 17 as co-accused in GMB documents leak case in which journalist Mahesh Langa is the main accused. Jani was reportedly facing breathing trouble in the jail, following which he was taken to the Civil hospital on Monday evening, where doctors declared him dead during the treatment.
